How to Create and Use a Project Schedule Template
💡If you regularly build the same kind of project schedule across jobs, you can save time by turning an existing schedule into a reusable template. Once created, a template can be applied to any job's project schedule with a couple of clicks, then adjusted as needed.
Steps:
Create a template from an existing schedule
- Go to a job that already has a project schedule created, and open the project schedule.

- At the bottom of the screen, click Export as Template.

- Rename the template if needed, choose which work days you want, and add a description.

- Press Create.

Use a template on a new project schedule
- Go to Project Schedule on a job and click New Project Schedule.

- In the dropdown, choose New Project Schedule From Template.

- Click the template dropdown and choose your template.

- Make any edits, then press Create.

Edit a template you've created
Templates can only be changed from the admin side once created.
- Go to Admin, and under Jobs, select Project Schedule Templates.

- Click on the template you want to edit.
- Make your changes to the tasks, dates, or dependencies as needed.

FAQ
Can I edit a template's tasks after I create it? Yes, but only from Admin. Go to Admin > Jobs > Project Schedule Templates, click on the template, and edit it there. Templates can't be edited from within a job's project schedule.
Does applying a template affect the original schedule it was created from? No, once exported as a template, it's a separate, reusable set of tasks, changes to a job's project schedule after the fact don't affect the template, and applying the template to a new job doesn't affect the original.
Can I still make changes after applying a template to a new project schedule? Yes, before pressing Create, you can edit any of the tasks brought in from the template.
