How to Set up Two-Factor Authentication
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an identity and access management security method that requires two separate forms of identification to log in to Loop Logics: your password, and a one-time code generated by an authenticator app on your phone.
Enabling 2FA gives Loop Logics an extra layer of protection for your account and helps safeguard vulnerable information and networks. You'll be asked for this code each time you log in once it's set up.
You can use either the Microsoft Authenticator app or the Google Authenticator app to generate your code. The Loop-side setup is identical either way. Pick whichever you already use, or whichever your organisation prefers.
Steps
Install an Authenticator App
Download one of the following free apps to your mobile phone:
- Microsoft Authenticator: available on the App Store or Google Play.
- Google Authenticator: available on the App Store or Google Play.
Either app works the same way for Loop Logics, you only need one.

Start adding an account in your authenticator app
If you're using Microsoft Authenticator:
- Open the app and tap the + icon in the top-right corner.
- On the Add account screen, select Other (Google, Facebook, etc.). This opens the camera to scan a QR code.
If you're using Google Authenticator:
- Open the app and tap the + icon.
- Select Scan a QR code (or Enter a setup key if you'd rather enter the code manually).
Either way, leave your authenticator app on this screen you'll come back to it in step 4 to scan the QR code from Loop Logics.
Start setup in Loop Logics
- In Loop Logics, select your user icon in the bottom left of the screen.
- Select Enable Two Factor from the menu.
Scan the QR code and confirm
- A QR code appears on your screen under Enable Two Factor Authentication.
- Using the camera view still open in your authenticator app from step 2, scan the QR code. Your app will generate a 6-digit code.
- Back in Loop, enter that 6-digit code into the Code field.
- Select Enable Two Factor.
💡You'll see a confirmation that two-factor authentication has been set up on your account. From now on, each time you log in to Loop you'll be asked for a code. Open your authenticator app and enter the current 6-digit code shown for your Loop Logics account.
FAQ
Do I have to use Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator specifically? No, either works, and the Loop-side steps are the same regardless of which one you choose. Any standard authenticator app that can scan a QR code will work in the same way.
What if the QR code won't scan? Most authenticator apps offer a manual entry option (for example, "Enter a setup key" in Google Authenticator, or entering the code manually in Microsoft Authenticator) select that option and type in the code shown alongside the QR code in Loop instead of scanning it.
What happens if I lose or change my phone? You'll need access to your authenticator app to log in, so make sure you set it up again on any new device before your old one is unavailable. Contact your Loop administrator or Loop support if you're locked out and can't generate a code.
Can I turn 2FA off once it's enabled? 2FA must be used to log in to Loop and may restrict some access if it isn't enabled, so it isn't intended to be switched off, if you have a specific issue with your setup, contact Loop support for help.
